Two BC Cancer researchers are recipients of 2025 Operating Grants from the Cancer Research Society.

Dr. Florian Kuchenbauer received a grant for the project, “Targeting APOBEC3B-induced replication stress in multiple myeloma with TP53 abnormalities.”

Dr. Peter Stirling received a grant for the project, “Inhibiting DNA2 nuclease for selective killing of ALT positive cancers.”

The Operating Grant program from the Cancer Research Society funds some of the most promising research projects in Canada. It supports researchers whose work advances essential knowledge to better prevent, detect and treat all types of cancer.

Selected through a rigorous peer review process, these projects help accelerate the discovery of concrete and innovative solutions to outsmart the disease.

Congratulations to Dr. Kuchenbauer and Dr. Stirling!
