Congratulations to the recipients of the BC Cancer Foundation (BCCF) Rising Stars Graduate Awards competition!
This year’s awardees are:
Dr. Florian Kuchenbauer, a distinguished researcher at BC Cancer, is the recipient of a Pediatric Blood Cancer Research Innovation Grant from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada for his project titled, “Targeting O-GlcNAc Transferase in Pediatric EVI1-High Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.”
This grant is designed to challenge the current pediatric blood cancer landscape by providing funding for projects that will address unmet needs for pediatric blood cancers.

Congratulations to Yingying Liu (Jiang Lab), a PhD student in the Collings Stevens Chronic Leukemia Research Laboratory, Department of Basic and Translational Research, for being awarded a prestigious ISEH Travel Grant Award.
Congratulations to Dr. Ly Vu for receiving a Journey Award from the Canada Centre for Immigrant Women in STEM. The Journey Awards recognize and honour the journeys of immigrant women in STEMM who exemplify leadership, innovation and community service.
Dr. Vu is a scientist at BC Cancer, professor at UBC, and a Canada Research Chair in RNA biology in hematological malignancies.
