Congratulations to Xining (Linda) Yang, (Kuchenbauer Lab) who has been awarded a 2020 Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) Research Trainee award (2020-2023), for her project entitled “Modulating microRNA-193a expression levels as a treatment for acute myeloid leukemia (AML)”.

Congratulations to Dr. Ryan Brinkman on receiving a 5-year NSERC Discovery Grant for his proposal entitled "Automated analysis of high dimensional flow cytometry data" and Dr. Peter Stirling on a 5-year NSERC Discovery Grant and 3-year Discovery Accelerator Supplement (DAS) for his proposal entitled “Nuclear protein quality control mechanisms during genotoxic stress”.

Congratulations to Dr. Florian Kuchenbauer (Kuchenbauer Lab), who has been awarded a 2020 Canada Innovation Fund (CFI)/BC Knowledge Development Fund (BCKDF) John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) grant for his proposal “Exploring mitochondrial function as therapeutic target in acute myeloid leukemia and multiple myeloma".

Congratulations to Afsaneh Mojtabanezhad Shariatpanahi (Kuchenbauer Lab) who has been awarded an Echoridge Educational Foundation Scholarship in Continuing Education of Stem Cell Transplant Research & Development for her project entitled “Elucidating the molecular mechanism of high-risk multiple myeloma”.

Congratulations to Dr. Florian Kuchenbauer (Kuchenbauer Lab) who recently has been awarded a two-year Canadian Cancer Society Innovation Grant as part of a research team consisted of investigators from Simon Fraser University (Dr. Robert Britton, the Lead PI, and Drs. David Vocadlo and Matthew Nodwell) for their proposal entitled “Small molecule inhibitors of O-GlcNAc transferase: validation of a new anticancer target”.
