Each year, the Till and McCulloch Award celebrates the best of Canadian science in the stem cell and regenerative medicine field. This year, a special Till and McCulloch Lifetime Achievement Award will celebrate the outstanding contributions that Dr. Connie Eaves has made throughout her distinguished career. BC Cancer researchers are playing a central role in a new international collaboration aimed at developing innovative treatments for osteosarcoma — a highly malignant bone cancer that commonly affects children and adolescents.

More than a dozen people with cancer who had exhausted all treatment options are alive and cancer-free today thanks to a pioneering Canadian clinical trial of a highly personalized kind of immunotherapy. The results, presented at the 2022 Cell Therapy Transplant Canada Conference, could open the door to a new era of made-in-Canada immunotherapies for cancer.
