Access Biospecimens & Data
Application Process
The application process should be completed by those who wish to access BBRS biospecimens and data for the purpose of research.
The access process requires confirmation of REB approval from the researchers for each specific study that it supports.
Access Timelines
The average timeline for the completion of access processes are influenced by the level of biospecimen or data complexity within each study supported.
User Fees
We are a non-profit provincial resource for cancer researchers. In order to partially offset costs and encourage careful consideration of needs for each project, user fees are charged to researchers accessing our inventory and requesting support for new prospective collections.
Biospecimens
The TTR can provide biospecimens and data from its pre-assembled collection or by initiating custom prospective collection services.
Only de-identified materials (biospecimens and data) will typically be provided for use in research projects.
The TTR access process requires confirmation of REB approval from the researchers for each specific study that it supports.
Clinical Data
The TTR provides detailed, de-identified data to researchers. Dedicated TTR staff extract clinical data from health records and when appropriate data is also received from BC Cancer outcomes unit.
The TTR can provide data with various levels of detail.
