Rainbow is the first Clinical Research Radiation Therapy Specialist (CRRTS) with the Nursing and Allied Health Research and Knowledge Translation (NAHRKT) department. Rainbow has been a Radiation Therapist (RT) since 2008 and worked in multiple BC Cancer centers and provided mentorship and leadership to fellow RTs in several specialty areas such as CT simulation and Brachytherapy. For the past three years, Rainbow has practiced as a Resource Radiation Therapist at BC Cancer-Victoria managing the Brachytherapy program. During this time, she has led various initiatives including the HDR replacement from Varian to Elekta, and implementation of LDR encounter in ARIA to align with the provincial standard of practice.
Rainbow is passionate about promoting evidence-based practice in RT and believes that a mindset of continuous learning through research and innovation enables us to grow within the profession and improve patient care. Her goal in this new role is to work provincially and within the clinical team at BC Cancer – Victoria to advance the development of evidence-based RT knowledge, ongoing improvement of RT practice, and RT research and knowledge mobilization through the demonstration of leadership, education, and expert clinical consultation.
