A clinical nurse specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse with a graduate degree in nursing who has advanced expertise in a clinical specialty. They use their specialized knowledge to (1) improve patient outcomes and experiences, (2) innovate care through research and knowledge mobilization, and (3) drive system-wide changes and continuous improvement.
